Dear Families,
This afternoon we have taken the decision to close school to students and most staff on Monday 2nd December. School will not be accessible on this day.
This decision has been taken due to us having some contractors on site this weekend to erect fencing around parts of the building. I wish to take steps to risk assess the site after this work has been completed to ensure our entrance, exit and evacuation plans are safe for all.
Lancashire County Council is putting precautionary measures in place on all schools constructed under their Building Schools for the Future programme. This will then allow them to carry out some investigation work on the building, but not affect our ability to use the site.
We expect to open as usual on Tuesday 3rd December and I will inform you of any change to this in due course.
Please see below the statement from LCC.
Thank you for your ongoing support.

Statement from LCC:
The county council has undertaken surveys at a number of Lancashire schools constructed under the Government’s Building Schools for the Future Programme.
In the course of carrying out their inspections, surveyors have identified some areas requiring further investigation.
Fencing is being erected until a thorough inspection has been completed and any necessary repairs have been carried out.
The county council is doing everything possible to ensure this work is completed quickly and with minimal disruption to the schools. Health and safety is the priority.
