Student Enrichment Programme
Our new enrichment clubs will start on Monday 21st September 2026.
Please note there will be no enrichment clubs running on 24th September 2026 as it’s our Open Evening.
We aim to develop students’ skills, talents and opportunities outside the classroom through our new enrichment programme. In 2026 we are launching:
Year 7-10 – The Shuttleworth Shield
Students complete three sections on their pathfinder award: move (sport), grow (skill) and give (volunteering). These opportunities will be facilitated in school and include activities such as ‘such as Cheerleading, ESports, supporting the library, Dungeons and Dragons, football, netball and many more. This is designed with the Duke of Edinburgh in mind and we hope that those who complete may go on to complete their bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Year 9&10 – The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award
Students in Year 9&10 have the opportunity to sign up to this award and can achieve certificates for each skill area: physical, skill and volunteering. Each section is completed for 3 months with one extended to 6 months. Those who complete these elements can take part in the expedition and achieve the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. The activities will be facilitated in school but students can also complete elements out of school. Students can then move to the Silver Award at college or sixth form.
Year 10 & 11
Students will have the choice of activities such as sports or relaxing activities such as crafting. This is to support students’ wellbeing as they work hard through their GCSEs. There are also revision clubs built into the enrichment timetable that are designed to help students throughout their GCSE courses.
