This year’s Leavers’ Prom was a such a fantastic event. It was wonderful to see our Year 11s dressed to impress, suited and booted, in all of their finery.

Students arrived at school chauffer driven in varying modes of transport such as supercars, mopeds, classic cars, pickups and limousines. This was quite the spectacle, made even more special by the sun shining and lots of proud families and smiling faces.

Upon arrival at the venue, students entered on the red carpet where they were offered Elderflower fizz and canapes. Beyond the entrance a huge balloon arch led them into the main room where the DJ was ready with their favourite tunes. The 9ft doughnut wall was stocked with stacks and stacks of delicious doughnuts; they were super popular!  The conservatory had the flower wall for ambient photo opportunities, leading out to the terrace and gardens, where students could sit chatting in the evening sunshine.

Our magician meandered around the tables striking awe and wonder wherever he went! Lots of laughter could be heard from the photo booth. As dusk fell, our HUGE prom letters lit up and made the whole event feel more magical than ever.

Dinner was a barbeque on the terrace, the food was delicious and plentiful,  students could eat as much as they wanted, which was a struggle for some after the doughnut wall!

Our awards ceremony was great fun and Paul Pickard’s rapping was second to none!  Prom King and Queen went to Trey Zengeni and R’Nel Sweeney, both were brimming with pride and were worthy winners, voted by students and staff together.

It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of this prestigious event, each and every student will have their memories of Shuttleworth’s Leavers’ Prom 2022 for years to come!
