Businesses back ‘Beth’s Ball’

Businesses back ‘Beth’s Ball’

Local businesses are backing ‘Beth’s Ball’ as we aim to raise enough money to send one of our students to Disneyland.

Beth Barry, 15, is Year 11 student who was diagnosed with  Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma two years ago – there are only around 250 cases a year in the UK.

She has had to undergo gruelling chemotherapy and treatment in America but has always wanted to be treated as a ‘normal student.’

Beth is Disney-mad and so the school aim to raise enough money to send Beth to Florida once her GCSE examinations are over in June.

The companies who have bought tickets and/or offered raffle prizes include the Education Partnership Trust, Bidfood, Randstad Education, PMM Accountants, Forbes Solicitors, Engie, Veka and more.

The ‘Ball for Beth’ is at Burnley Football Club on Saturday February 24th with a three course meal, disco and entertainment.

Tickets are £35, available from 01282 682300 or by emailing tickets@shuttleworth.lancs.sch.uk. If any companies would like to get involved with the fundraising activities or contribute to the auction, please get in touch.
